FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


DO I NEED AN INTERVIEW?


For some courses the tutor will conduct interviews in order to assess whether you have chosen the right course and you are able to cope with the content of the course. After you have submitted an application form you will receive details by post telling you when and where the interviews will take place. If the guide says register by post or telephone” you can telephone the centre on 07940521943 and register immediately using a credit or debit card or alternatively complete a registration form and post it to the centre enclosing a cheque or card details.


THE COURSE REQUIRES A PORTFOLIO, WHAT IS THIS?


The qualification will be passing or refer and is internally assessed by a portfolio of evidence.  This is a collection of learner’s work and can be in any chosen format e.g. paper based, electronically created and stored. The centre will be responsible for what type of proof the learner will need to collect to evidence all the assessment criteria has been met.


CAN I DO AN APPRENTICESHIP OR QCF (QUALIFICATION CREDITATION FRAMEWORK)?


Apprenticeship and QCF courses can start at any time of the year as assessments and coursework are carried out at your place of work. Please note if you are over 18 you must be employed to do these courses. If you are aged between 16 and 18 and unemployed, please contact us and ask for the Apprenticeship Training Call 07940521943 for more details. You can start an induction course that can prepare you to work in the adult social care sector.  You can also raise your level whiles you are still working in the adult care sector. An assessor will be there to assess you and collect evidence based on your skills and competence.

 

WHAT DAYS AND TIMES WILL I BE IN THE CENTRE?


Your assessor will plan an assessment date for meeting at your own pace and time to suit you. There are learner total guided hours which determines the meeting times which is normally every two weeks or once a month either in the centre or at the work place.
